Meet The Team- Our Online Production Coordinator
What’s your favourite thing about working at Yumi?
I’ve worked for Yumi in one way or another for three years now. I originally worked in the Braintree store for 2 years and absolutely loved it! I loved the clothes, the customers and all my lovely staff. I was really sad when my time in store ended, so as soon as I saw a career opportunity had opened in the London head office, I just knew I had to apply. I still love the clothing just as much as I did before and love seeing all the designs and samples before anyone else. I’ve met loads of amazing people in my first year here and know they’ll be lifelong friends!
What does a typical day look like for you?
As the Online Production Coordinator, my job is to sort through which stock has arrive in our warehouse and get that product onto the website as quickly as possible. I do this for all the stock on our host websites too, such as Debenhams, House of Fraser and John Lewis to name a few! You’ll also find me with the merchandisers, discussing what stock is available and when it’s planned to be published. I coordinate with both our Online Photography Coordinator and our Content Editor to make sure each product has everything we need to go live.
What’s your standout piece from our SS18 range?
Well, I found it really hard to pick only one standout piece from the range, so I’ve picked two instead! My first is the Metallic Dobby Maxi Dress. I’ve purchased this dress for my honeymoon and cannot wait to wear it. My other favourite is the Giraffe Placement Tunic Dress. Each season Yumi designs this dress with a different quirky animal print and each time I love it! For SS17 we had it with a flamingo on the front and just love how unique it is. They’re always so easy to wear and I also get loads of compliments.
What do you do when you’re not at work?
When I’m not at work, my main passion is horse riding. I’ve owned horses since I was 11 but recently took a break from it to do grown up things – like buy a house and plan a wedding! I can’t wait to get back in the saddle and will be one of the first things I’ll do once I’m back from my honeymoon.
Of course wedding planning has taken up a lot of my time for the past year. This time next week I’ll be married and cannot wait, it’s flown by. It just wouldn’t be a special occasion without some element of Yumi! My partner’s mother has decided to wear the Spot Mesh Prom Dress on the big day!
What’s one thing you’re looking forward to this Spring/Summer?
The wedding was a few days ago, so that’s something I’ve been really looking forward to. Now we’re off on our honeymoon! We’re spending 10 days on a beach in St. Lucia followed by 4 action packed nights in Las Vegas. It’s been a busy year so it’ll be lovey to spend some quality time with my new husband.
I also managed to get tickets for Brighton Pride this year with a few Yumi co-workers and we’re all very excited… Britney Spears here we come!
